The Heartfelt Community Project aims to gift comfort hearts to those in need around the world. These unique “comfort hearts” are the creation of artist Wendy Bailye from Brisbane, Australia. In 2023, Wendy launched the Heartfelt Community Project to spread love and formed an online community of fiber artists that has grown to include over 700 members globally.
Each of these comfort hearts is handmade using the wet felting technique, which involves blending natural wool and silk fibers, and gently filling them with wool. They are crafted to be soft, warm, and easy to hold, providing patients with a source of comfort and connection that they can keep in their hand or nearby.
These handmade gifts are created and given freely, with the intention of offering a simple yet profound expression of care during meaningful times. Each heart also includes a small tag with a gentle message about comfort, presence, and love.
